Events Overview

STRN hosts and supports a fantastic array of events dedicated to the sustainability transitions’ community. Our flagship annual event, the International Sustainability Transitions Conference (IST), welcomes more than 500 academics and practitioners for 3 days of high-level and stimulating discussions.

We host an annual PhD Theory School and a PhD Methodology School. The PhD Theory School engages with the thorny theoretical questions we grapple with everyday, while the Methodology School focuses on how and why we select certain methodologies to conduct our research. 

The Network for early career researchers in Sustainability Transitions (NEST) hosts an annual conference by and for PhDs and ECRs. NEST also organizes a series of webinars, freely available to the community. 

The 11 STRN Thematic Groups are bottom-up initiatives supported that engage in specific topics. They regularly host fascinating events and activities.
