Sam received her PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2012. Her research concerned environmental decision-making regarding natural resource use in the community forests of Nepal. She now lectures to postgraduates on issues of environment development and ecosystem services. Sam works half-time on the TEDDINET project acting as coordinator for the network (www.teddinet.org); a project aimed at bringing together those researching the ‘transformation of energy demand through digital innovation’.
