International Sustainability Transitions Conference (IST)
Building Bridges
Jun 28 - Jun 30, 2027
The International Sustainability Transitions conference (IST) 2027 will be the first IST to take place in Latin America. Bringing together participants from around the world to discuss the latest developments in sustainability transitions, the program will include a diverse array of themes and many opportunities for interaction and collaboration.
Conference theme
The conference theme is “Building Bridges” and invites transition scholars and practitioners to build bridges across world regions, perspectives, ontologies and epistemic communities. In a period of political polarization and fragmentation of information, how can we build bridges with those who have different experiences, backgrounds, positionalities, and perspectives to create concrete changes in the world?
Conference Organizers
The IST conference 2027 is taking place at Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (Univali), Brazil, Campus Balneário Camboriú. It is hosted and co-organized by UNIVALI’s research group on Sustainability Transitions and the Pluriverse of Alternatives (TranS-PlurAL) and the Graduate Program in Tourism and Hospitality.
