Short Bio

I am a lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, NTU with a joint appointment with the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core office. I am an interdisciplinary researcher and work at the intersection of clean energy/environment/ climate change/ sustainability and social sciences. Understanding social, cultural, and more human-centric aspects of the core technical process of clean energy technology or policy adoption and overall low-carbon transition is the central theme of my research work. My research mainly focuses on comprehending the adoption of climate change and environmental policies, clean energy technologies, human behavior, and decision-making in the domain of clean energy and the environment. Specifically, my research work revolves around three main themes: (i) Understanding the role of culture and other related social aspects in the clean energy adoption and climate change policy decisions, (ii) Role of basic human dispositions in individual-level decision-making related to energy-saving and overall environmental behavior–experimental approaches to accelerate/influence individual-level-decision making for better  (iii) The nexus of society and technology in the broader goal of achieving low carbon energy transition (a new area-work underway). I presently teach an interdisciplinary and future-oriented learning course on sustainability that is at the forefront of the university’s vision for fostering an interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizing key transferable skills and addressing global challenges of the 21st century such as climate change. I have taught various other undergraduate courses such as environmental economics and cost-benefit analysis. In my previous role as a climate change and sustainability consultant at Deloitte, I have extensively worked on various clean energy projects registered under the international climate change treaties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
