Short Bio | I is an energy and climate policy specialist with 20 years of experience in academic and consultancy research. I am currently deputy director of the Sussex Energy Group (SEG) at SPRU University of Sussex co-manager of the Technology and Policy Assessment function of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) Director of the Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand and Honorary Senior Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Policy Imperial College. I trained as an electrical engineer and spent four years working in industrial R&D laboratories before joining SPRU in 1991. Since that time I have undertaken a range of research on energy and environmental policy with particular focus on energy modelling energy efficiency emissions trading and resource depletion. This work is primarily informed by economics and has included case studies statistical analysis and modelling. I have published three books twenty academic papers twelve book chapters and more than one hundred research reports. I have extensive experience in leading national and international research projects and have acted as consultant to the European Commission the UN UK government departments the Environment Agency the Sustainable Development Commission private sector organisations and NGOs My work has been widely reported in the technical and popular press. My current research interests include rebound effects for households and the impact of climate policy on employment. |
