Associate professor in Technology and Development Studies at the School of Innovation Studies of Eindhoven University of Technology. Main current research interest: sustainability issues of biofuels. Other research: technological capability acquisition and its role in industrial development; learning-based approaches for succesful implementation of technical development projects. Conceptual orientation: evolutionary innovation / transition studies. Main research objective: introducing elements of evolutionary innovation studies especially sustainability transition thinking into the adacemic discourse about international sustainable development & globalisation. Earlier relevant work experience: staff mmember on small enterprise & informal sector development projects International Labour Organisation (East Africa India Sri Lanka Pakistan Thailand); consultant to UNCTAD-Transnational Investment Dept; researcher at the International Development Centre of the University of Oxford; and lecturer at the Institute of Social Studies The Hague and at the Dept of Economics at Tilburg University.
