Notable Paper Award
STRN is happy to announce that self-nominations are open for the Notable Paper Awards of IST 2025. Up to five Notable Papers, written by emerging, early, or mid-career scholars, will be chosen from the submissions by a committee of the STRN steering group and board and awarded at IST 2025 in Lisbon. Please use the link below to nominate your paper for consideration (deadline: Monday, June 2, 2025).
Before submitting your paper, please make sure it meets the following criteria:
- Only full papers that have been accepted for presentation at IST 2025 can be nominated (from any type of presentation).
- The paper should be clearly positioned in, and speak and contribute to, sustainability transitions research. This is typically visible in the intro & theory section.
- Papers must not be accepted for publication by the time of self-nomination but may be under peer-review.
- Papers should not be considered for or have won another award.
- Only one full paper may be nominated per lead author.
- The lead author must be an emerging, early career, or mid-career scholar: they must be in the process of completing a graduate degree or have obtained their doctoral degree within the last 8 years before the IST (e.g. IST 25 = 2017 or later).
- The self-nomination must be accompanied by a short justification (max. 250 words) explaining why the paper should be considered for the award (e.g., novelty or significance of the contribution).
